Not beautiful, but that's not their job. 😆 I have to scrape them out every few months so the water flows. The drain plug just makes it block up faster. The orange one is where the light hits best FYI.
Oh wow! Are they like hard to the touch or more soft?
I know you probably don't want to stick your hand in there, but if you touch them it won't hurt you. I'd LOVE to see the underside of them! If you want to take 1 out that might be best. I might be able to make a guess on genus/species that way..
Firm and spongy! I'll find a good smooth tool to cut them away from the aide and send images. Might be a little while. 😁 if I can find out what they are, it's all good. I love learning new things. 😍 yay science!!!
Spongy makes me think it's a polypore of some kind, which is really neat! When people say "mushrooms in their sink" I usually think of gilled mushrooms, not pored mushrooms. I wonder how they got in there... The spores had to get in somehow!
It's only in one sink in the bathroom, it's also the sink closest to the windows, So that's my guess. We've tried a lot to get rid of it, but even antifungal sprays don't help. So now I just watch her grow and clip her back. 😆 I don't want a flooded bathroom after all.
