It would be better to express deficits and surpluses as a percentage of GDP (or maybe some other measure of the overall economy). Then we would still see a contrast between Democrats and Republicans, but we could also see how much deficits are increasing in real terms.

GHW Bush, as the last true Eisenhhower Conservative, is missing. He also added to the deficit, but for actual Conservative reasons.

As for Reagan, GW Bush and Trump, they alone account for over 90% of the US's National Debt.
