Right, our biggest problem is a shortage of rain. Right now LA has 2% or it's usual rainfall for this time of year.

This is usually the CA wet season and in northern CA we have gotten some rain, but in SoCal basically nothing.

Bone dry conditions mean any time there is wind there is fire.

Federal regulations don’t allow for open air reservoirs like that. I.e. They were going to cover the silver lake reservoir for this reason, even add reflecting balls, but instead, bc community push back, it’s just an untouchable water feature for the community now

I did an hour on FB today correcting the crazies. E.g., explaining that the Klamath River doesn’t flow through LA, and so removing that dam did not impair the ability to fight fires in LA. It totally wore me out. But maybe we should all take turns doing that.

Now do that with hundreds of gigantic faucets called hydrants all turned to full blast, and that's what happened with our fires here.
