Some want it - see the counties with the most bans where sensible voices are outnumbered. But a lot of folks are ignorant to what's going on, they just don't pay attention to local elections. People who care exist, which is why the damage is centered the way it is on the map.

It's hard. We're talking about people with generational messages ingrained in them. It's not a Rep vs Dem thing, it's a trusting the government thing. They don't see the point in voting because "it doesn't matter." State Dems have started outreach to show people they should care...
