I’m just curious as to what they think is the upside of having a bunch of kids running around as opposed to being in school? What could possibly go wrong? Both right away and on the go forward.
They believe public education is mostly contrary to their religion and so prefer to raise their children unable to read write or calculate beyond an elementary level as long as they are also indoctrinated into evangelical Christianity. They value religion, not knowledge.
Of course it will. Tenasty is without a doubt the most child grooming state in the nation. Xians are child abusers and do it with a smile on their leopard eaten faces because (according to the mythical creator) god said so. Bunch of worthless dried up cum puddles. FUCKGOD FUCKTRUMP
This attitude, right here, is why 90 million people stayed home instead of voting last November. The GOP has eliminated public civics education in many schools. Courses that used to be required. People no longer learn how our government works or why knowing this is important.
unquestionably red states are going to see services ripped away but this is what they voted for at a national, state, and local level. they're getting the government they deserve just as those of us in blue states where we tolerate incredible levels of Dem incompetence are getting what we deserve.
Horrible, I live in TN and didn’t vote for any of these assholes. What a bunch of evil politicians. Embarrassed by their religious claims not backed up by their actions. Horrible and inhumane
On the plus side, immigrants are probably better off not learning that Noah insisted that dinosaurs could not enter his ark because they were too big and had nasty dispositions.
Excluding children from public education will not stop with immigrants. When will your children be on the chopping block? Who will be next? Disabled children? LGBTQ+ children? Black and brown children?
1. About 100 years ago during the roaring 20s, farmers, especially in Texas, were becoming more and more dependent on workers from Mexico to go into the fields and pick the crops. From the beginning there was discussion of a guest worker program, where the workers could be recruited...
2. to do the work and when their contract is fulfilled they take their money and go home. The farmers were immediately against it because legal status meant the workers could form unions and bargain for higher wages. So for decades the farm-state senators shot down any chance of a guest worker...
3. program (except for the Bracero program another story) A unwritten rule was established that no farmer will ever go to jail for using an "illegal" to pick the crops. That principle is still in effect today as managers and executives in agribusiness, meat packing, light construction trades, etc...
4. hire and profit from the labor of people who did not come here legally with zero fear of legal consequences. Farmers voted for Trump 93%, managers and executives that profit from "illegal" labor I would wager are largely Republican. I have a neighbor with an $80,000 pickup with a Gadson Flag...
5. sticker who has a little roofing company. I cannot tell the immigration status of his crew, but they all speak Spanish and they blast Tejano music while they work. Republicans are the people largely profiting from our broken immigration system.

What a cruel response to children being denied an education.
If this article was about farmers getting shafted, delight away. But THESE ARE KIDS. THEY DID NOT VOTE. Their parents didn’t vote for this either.
What makes you think TN is any stupider than any of these states? You need to take that bragging over to Texas where it's mandatory.
They hate American Black people so much, they'll willingly throw their own kids under the school bus to hurt Black kids.
If you don't know I can explain.
