This is well-documented. The Great American Prosperity occurred when the wealthiest Americans paid high marginal tax rates & estate taxes. This graph clearly shows when things shifted in favor of the rich. Roosevelt's economic measures were decimated by Reagan, killed by Bush W., & buried by Trump.

Great Post. There needs to be a rate that is realistic for the wealthy > $400k. That rate should be 30% no excuses. If you think that’s low then please look up what rate billionaires currently pay. It’s less than 5%.

There is one alternative that I wish was not so commonly overlooked. Rather than continuing to allow the rigged economy to funnel most of the wealth created by the economy to the top .1%, we enforce reasonable and just worker compensation in the first place (strong unions). No redistribution needed.
