For those of us who are woke, the symbolism in the halftime show was clear and powerful. It’s unfortunate that not everyone has the background to fully appreciate it.

It was very symbolic in that this country was built on the backs of slaves. We wouldn't be where we are. Also, the 40 acres and a mule. Watch that. I loved how Kendrick told them, "No, they will not go back to the comfortable for whites space !
I’m a bit shocked how many could get the powerful message he wove in including things like the prison sign, to very subtle things like Samuel L. Jackson. Kendrick Lamar wove together something very cool. Without coming right and saying 🖕🏼to racism and exclusion. He nailed it.
To be honest, even though I consider myself woke, I didn't get all of it until the next morning. I am an old white guy that likes some rap music, but my 69 years of privilege has strong roots.
I don’t have that background. What I DO have is the ability to read and comprehend and the sense to listen to people who DO poses said background. Kendrick Lamar is on my hero list!
Exactly. I’m not part of the demographic that listened to rap. However, I realized its speaks for the new generations so I tried to listen, learn and be open to the message. This performance spoke its truth powerfully and is a lesson for all time.
Yes! A very strong message to racial hate, woke, and a strong Democracy. Samuel L Jackson representing Uncke Sam also send a strong message. Uncle Tom is truly not welcome! We are about love unity and understanding. We are also about our democracy! For those who forgot. Acted like you better know.
