Under settings > Moderation for content filtering, make sure to select "warn" and it should say, "Warning: Adult content" before an nsfw picture and from there most nsfw art/IRL pics will show up with a content warning.

Until there's an automatic feature for a person's account so that you don't have to unfollow accounts; you could set up an alternate account to view nsfw art and sfw art seperately like on twitter.
While some posts get automatically labeled by the mods it is still recommended that you self label your work

Many people are forgetful and make this accident repeatedly in part because of mental health issues that cause forgetfulness.
There is also many people who refuse to tag/label their art because they fear reduced reach due to censorship and automoderation
The fear of that last bit needa be gone tho, there is no algorithm for it to suppress them. So the only reach they will have is if ppl RT it or if its on the furry list feed.
