The reason everyone uses syringes and styptics is because there's no other add-ons worth running. The medkit changes is where the root problem really lies.
I feel like Abdominal Dressing completely cancelling out Nurse’s Calling wouldn’t be the best idea, especially since it’s a general perk that most new players rely on, but overall I love these!
I agree that addons for survivor items feel very outdated and uninspired at the moment, I think the same is true for a lot of the killer addons in the game - looting is also very very bad at the moment and I don't see 8 second chest looting being a solution to the problem itself.
I think it would be nice for BHVR to implement ideas like this into PTB's to see how they would translate into the actual game. Might as well try things out, the game needs more variety desperately
I feel like add-on variety in general is needed. But I think there would be use in a competitive game mode where you can't bring items or offerings. Or addons for killers. Some killers would be boned without addons, but that's not uncommon for competitive modes in games.
I love the idea of “having medical supplies handy” by getting a passive from carrying around the kit. My only worry is that people typically run whatever gets them the best results, so the Syringe with insta 25% and charge addons will still be run mostly. But at least they’d be more interesting!!
Also I’d probably make Styptic last until you lose a health state, or leave the injured state, because otherwise they could heal, get injured, heal, get injured, and not leave blood the entire time. Unless that was the intention?
Main issue I see with current version of Syringe is, that you can use it and work on the gen at the same time. Removing this interaction (Syringe disabled if you touch a gen) would make this addon healthier, but still worthy of the iridescent rarity.
Mangled and Haemmorage are not as common as they were before the "rework". Just the fact you could face killer without certain addon or perk, makes this addon risky to pick, when you could use other addon, that works no mather what killer brings.
Medkits variety is trash now and your new add-ons make almost no effect AND ruin the only strong add-ons left. Wasn’t your initial campaign to destroy medkits enough? Why do you have to take more from us?
I think unique effects could be very fun for each item, like maps and some key add-ons already do, but I do believe most players would still stick to speed and charge for the sake of effectiveness and these ones would be considered 'niche'
Many things in the game need more variety and a once over with addons for survivor items and killers to make everything more viable with less repeating abilities that just incentivize using the highest tier of a specific addon. They’ve been doing a better job of this with newer killers at least.
No because in Solo hemorrhaging and being interrupted in general is annoying and it's just too much of a hassle and for altrusitic heals this still wouldn't help to find them all
Like unless a medkit can communicate basekit to the 30h Claudette that I can heal her what's the point. If you remove syringes I just won't use medkits.
It's a noble cause but there's so much add on discrepancy across the entire game it feels like a gargantuan task to fix it all. I do like the idea of bringing the power level down in places but some of it is so niche I fear no one would run it anyway. Catch 22 situation 😮💨
