Obviously, the gun was loaded. Parents with small children leaving a loaded gun where children can access it is crazy!

If a child gets hold of a gun and causes injury or death to someone, the parents and the gun owner (if different), should be charged with the appropriate crime (murder, manslaughter etc).

I had a 6 year old student with autism get his dad's loaded gun while dad was sleeping and shoot himself. Dad was so wasted he didn't hear the gunshot. The child could have been saved, but bled out.

I was a long term sub teacher for his classroom, but had finished the job in October. The principal called to tell me a few weeks after I left so I wouldn't hear it on the news. I still sub at that school because of her.
