It's far healthier to do so though. Not everyone and everything warrants a response, immediate or otherwise. I hope you are able to figure out a better balance for interacting with the public and not having your personal boundaries compromised at the same time in the new year π«Ά
It's important to conserve your energy, and place it where you feel it is better suited. Self care is always a top tier new years resolution. You got this, cuncle πͺπΌππΌβ¨οΈ
I mean valid. I really appreciate and get so incredibly happy whenever you reply/like to my dumb replies, but I donβt wanna add to stress, bother you, or cross any boundaries. You deserve rest and to have your space respected. Goodluck to you on all your newyears resolutions.
I dunno. You did really well trolling Reddit with that AMA! π Though had you teased you'd answer one question, then disappear, it would have been gold.
I was thinking the same thing, I never want to bother him because I really respect him. I try and send positive stuff and not to random. But while I might be sad I will respect him.
You are a human being⦠as someone who is still on the struggle bus with boundaries⦠I get it. I think working as a guest liaison at a con and getting the inside look these last 5 years, I get it. You guys balance your professional lives and personal lives as carefully as possible. Take your time.
I live by the motto, you have to do what makes you happy. If leaving people on read is it then thatβs what works for you. You have to take care of you first.
Parents π let me guess there kid watched the show thatβs not ment for their age and then blamed you instead of their bad parenting. Funny enough me and some friends are currently talking about this xD like itβs not your fault! Itβs theirs.
Iβve had kids come up to me while I have my Hazbin/Helluva shirts on or pins and say I love that show. I go right to their parents and explain itβs not for their age. Because at the end of the day itβs the parentβs fault and no one else deserves the blame other than them.
Time is something you never get back. Yes, that means you should value that time with family and friends, but it also means you value your time alone. MOST of the time, the message can wait. It's okay to scroll through bsky instead of reading that text, doesn't make you a bad son/friend/loved one
Another good one is to stop saying "sorry" for not responding to messages asap (this is for everyone btw)
Being able to instantly talk to people is a VERY new thing that's often overwhelming for our silly human brains. So unless it's an emergency you shouldn't feel bad for not responding quickly
reminds me of when someone asked me "can u stop leaving me on delivered" js because I wouldn't respond to their messages immediately. like mind u, I have a life and barely check my insta dms lol

While I do value the people in my life, I HAVE a life; & only so much time/energy in a day
Luckily I've found good friends that don't mind if I respond late π₯°
But I'm trying to normalize this as much as possible cause it's kind of unfair if you think about it:
We already have SO MUCH to deal with daily, we shouldn't feel bad for not dropping everything to respond
