Ravens, size wise are about the same as a red tailed hawk. They are BIG and you WILL notice. ππ€
Crows are about one third the size of an adult raven. A little bigger than a pigeon, wingspans maybe about 2 feet. This is also dependent on the species of crow.
My thoughts exactly the first time I saw them IRL! I grew up thinking they're just more suave cousins of crows lmao, but in reality they're *jumbo* suave cousins of crows π«£
I live atop the largest hill in our area (Huntsville, Ontario) and have been watching the show lately. There has been some amazing dancing and show-off acrobatics. Spring comes soonβas we still have a mountain of snow, the Ravens, Chickadees, and various Woodpeckers are ready.
Around here, it's pretty obvious - size, beak weight, throat ruff, tail shape in flight and that voice (gronk! says the raven). Also, our crow go south in the winter π
