There has been an ideologically driven campaign against the BBC, seemingly initially driven by the likes of Murdoch, but to hear the value of the of the World Service is being realised by this government is a source of reassurance for me.
You just have to go through their coverage of the Gaza conflict to conclude they are no more than a mouthpiece for the UK establishment.

The shameful news blackout on Gaza and the West Bank is a silent indictment proves it beyond doubt and nullifies any defence put up for the BBC World Service.
Despite the failings, BBC WS is still one of the most trusted sources.
