My first time getting that warning, and here in Claremont felt the house shake about 20 seconds after getting the alert. No ground shaking, but our two story house was creaking pretty good, and cabinets were rattling.
I got it a few seconds before, which was impressive! But since it started in SD I imagine the system had a little bit of time to warn us. Still! Pretty fast!
Would be nice if it said where the earthquake is when they alert you. I kept waiting for something big to hit!
Here in San Diego, the alert went off after the quake had already began, so it wasn't helpful to me. But it's super cool to see that LA had a bit of warning!
We had our first alert in south OC and it went off about 20
Secs before the quake. I did not even know OC was finally part
Of the early earthquake alert.
Right??!! I’ve lived in Los Angeles, my whole life and never had a notification before the actual earthquake. Not a lot of time but still technologies is definitely getting better.
In Dana Point the alert arrived virtually simultaneously with the quake so yes and kind of no since I wouldn’t have had time to do anything. But progress.
I yelled earthquake and dropped and held on...and...well not much here in San Diego. Felt a bit silly. But glad to have the app (even if one of the tests was in the middle of the night). This is my 3rd warning - so jarring, cannot be ignored.
