Stolas is a victim of abuse and loneliness, no doubt. However, given his ignorance of Blitz' and Octavia's feelings, unintentional as it is, it's clear Stolas also brings a lot of his misery on himself.

Stolas is frustrating in that it's hard to love him OR hate him; he's THAT much of a mixed bag.
