I love pc gaming but I seriously still wish the consoles get brave enough to display their player counts. I wanna see how many switch players are concurrently playing Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze lol
That's nonsense. The cheapest is usually physical because you can get tons of used games. You can't really do that on a PC because the physical market is nonexistent. people act like console don't have sales on games. Literally, there are several sales every week, even on closed console ecosystems.
I've been playing all my life on consoles and I've been building a gaming PC for a few years and I'm not on it. Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam in one place and it works perfectly 🥰
I've been gaming for 38 years. I started on consoles, went to PS/PC in the early 2000s, mostly PC during the 7th console generation, and then went back to just PS. Console gaming offers more convenience, cost-effectiveness, and a better sense of identity. Pc gaming just looks like its getting worse.
It's cool to meet an old player like me. Today's PC is not at all the same as it was in the 2000s. I swore by consoles before. Everything has changed today, especially the fact that most of the games are everywhere.
I'm not a PC specialist but I like to have everything in one place and be part of an "entity" in which I turn around. Something that Xbox has completely screwed up at in recent years :)
What r u talking about! There are literally 4 separate sales on psn right now not including special discounts to psplus subscribers. Yeah pc gamers spending more than a console just to barely run monster hunter wilds totally aren't being robbed.
PC owners spending more than a console to get more than a console. It can play most games ever made, and then it can be used for work, for media, for whatever you want because it’s a damn computer.
Not OP but I don't think SteamDB is capable of providing such information per region as from what I understand the count was designed to provide the accumulative account of active users in "real time".

And I say that having both. Console is way more fun tbh.
So the active user number is a much better metric to follow. It looks like it still holds true that roughly 1:4 users are playing
But using total users is silly. That is like PS5 rest mode numbers being the "active" users. In game is the better metric
