I’ve learned some things, being nana to a child with Down syndrome. I do know the initial diagnosis my daughter received was devestating to her and thus, myself. It has been a long road of learning in a short 6 yrs.
Would anyone be at all interested in a Down syndrome “bit of info” once in awhile?

And pls highlight how devastating cuts at Dept of Education (IEPs), Social Security/Mcaid, DEI/EEOC will impact this child now (sped funding) & in the future(job training & support, employment.)
I would imagine there are ups and downs every day. If you feel better talking about it, updates or interacting with your fellow Bluesky family, I say yes. Go for it! ❤️😊
FTR, I knew someone once who had Down Syndrome and spent the first several years of life in a covered crypt. Via knowing that person, I learned that having Down Syndrome ≠ stupidity.
In my younger years, I worked with children with special needs; mostly neurological & genetic conditions such as CP & DS.
It was such rewarding work & I am still good friends with two past students! They are now amazing adults who contribute much to their respective communities 👏🏻❤️🙏😊💙
We have an autistic neighbor - both our families moved in about the same time ..
I believe knowledge is the key to a better society
the more you understand a person (any person) the more you care about their welfare
(speaking in the collective here)
Your love, patience and care for your grandson has always come through in your posts. You're an inspiration to others facing similar challenges.
Not sure if you have access to A&E on demand; I see it is available there. There are also some clips on You Tube
Your grandson is so precious 💖💖
