We need leaders who will meet the moment and work to create a future young people can see themselves in. Antiquated, encased in amber, slow-growth housing policies will not get us there. We must do better.

Housing advocates outnumbered opponents by a margin of 89 to 75 during a 5-hour public hearing on the One Seattle growth plan this week. Nevertheless, several councilmembers made it clear that they sided with slow-growth advocates.
