My Mum used to sing Morningtown Ride to me to get me to go to sleep. It worked. It is the song I associate with being secure and going off to sleep. Unfortunately I have to pay for and use CBD these days for the same effect.

I saw the Seekers at a Mission concert (supporting Englebert Humperdink). They were amazing, and the huge crowd singing Morningtown Ride was lovely.

I was discussing this yesterday with my wife. I confused Engelbert Humperdinck (an incredible name worthy of Richard Scarry or Dr Seuss) and John GGGGGGGGGerrardRoofs Rowles all the time because at one point they synched their daywear to a gold medallion and a shirt that was unbuttoned to highpants.

I'm thinking probably around 87-8, because it was Mr Dalton, and ours was at the Rangiora Town Hall.

(Which is worth doing an image search for. It's got quite the paint job. Back then it was just a warm vanilla, but these days... well. It's different.)
