I don’t think you can use tape as an alternative to masking fluid , Masking fluid is like a latex liquid that you apply on the area that you didn’t wanna be painted on

I think what you mean is a correction fluid for covering typo errors, no that’s not the one.
Masking fluid is a latex-based liquid used to protect areas of paper from paint, once dry and after painting you can peel them off. You can get it in Amazon or an art supply store
