Seeing your posts got me to finally figure out what I want to use my neocities page for! Now to find the time to tackle it with my circa-y2k website skills… (I at least understand how CSS works now thanks to ao3 but idk if I will be able to even identify when it would be useful…)

yay I'm super happy to hear it!! css is good for just making your webpage looking different from just being [default font] black text on a white background LOL you can move stuff around with it too as well as tweaking colors and stuff :D

I do most of that with HTML already! My sites were looking reasonably nice by the end of the Web 1.0 era, no weird patterns for backgrounds and random gifs thrown around for fun lol. I need to figure out what I can do with CSS that I can’t do with HTML.

oooh okay! well if you need any help feel free to ask :D css can be used to more conveniently style elements of a webpage without needing to do it element by element lol (just saying this in case you wanted to consider it) buuut I'm sure with more on your site you'll find a use hehe

oh wow this is so relatable and validating from the art angle- great piece! i started on lj making graphics/editing layouts but never really made my own stuff fully until 2019 on neocities. then once i found out people still had domains i was all in. it's so fun!
