Trump just banned “illegal protests”—with no definition of what that means. Students could be expelled, arrested, or even deported. Silencing dissent isn’t leadership—it’s authoritarianism in real time.

My daughter is in college right now. She has every right (and will) express her opinion. But I fear for her life, as I KNOW Trump wont think twice about using military on students.
Trump is firing military leaders and appointing ones that are loyal to him. Military personal take an oath to uphold the constitution first and obey the president second and not the other way around but Trump is quickly changing that.
If it comes to that, they will stand by their oath. What’s tRump going to do? Replace our whole military that will take orders from him over the constitution. Him replacing military leaders won’t help him.
I’m getting an uneasy sense that Trump’s plan is to break civil society to trigger mass demonstrations, and use that as a pretext to impose Martial Law…which he would have no intention of ever lifting.
We all hope you are wrong BUT the more he loses in Court the more desperate he might get. I really think Martial Law may not work for donald because some soldiers may not obey—remember Kent State…not going to make that mistake for donald.
Think Rump has a different idea what an Illegal protest constitutes don’t know if his enforcement would amount to “shooting the protesters in the legs”. The bully wants to quelch the opposition by getting us to acquiesce in advance! He folds quickly once he realizes nobody is taking his bait.
OK. Here I am, a brilliant Lithuanian teenager. Why the f*ck would I come to a country run by Nazis and led by an anti-intellectual TV clown for college?
Don't people get that there are lots of other choices?
Trump will be the one that decides what is an illegal and a legal protest. Trying to overthrow an election by attacking the capitol = legal. Protesting the loss of civil liberties and the destruction of democracy = illegal.
