If you can find a station with targetable holo-ads outside, you just need to fire off a research limpet at them and wait. You may be ncur a fine. If there aren't any in your target system(s), then you can't complete the task.

I'll do that but it only allows me to target the ads in systems that aren't ALD controlled, and I'm pretty sure this wants me to do the work in controlled reinforcement systems. I've tried other powers, contested systems, everything. Either I can't target it (ALD) or it doesn't count (anyone else)

I just wanted to make sure it was an impossible task before writing it off, I know that some of the PP 2.0 tasks are like that. Hopefully we get a little tune up when the T8 goes live for credits.

You probably need to find ads that are not showing ALD (in other words, that have already been hacked), so you can hack them back. Not necessarily easy to achieve....

Exactly this. It's nice that it automatically makes only the hacked ads in friendly territory hackable.

Have the same mission for 9 hacks. Avoid High Security systems and Anarchy (they don't seem to have adverts at all). Then, it's just a question of luck when you drop in from supercruise. Have also tried loitering (while scanning wakes) but not seen one change to hack back.

I can sympathize. I currently have a Power mission to hack billboards in a system that has no billboards, and was up way too late last night attempting a cargo recovery mission w/none of the target cargo anywhere in the system. 😂

Have had to do holo hacking in a system my PP controlled, and it helped reinforce the system. Apparently vandals came and was hacking those holos for an opposing PP faction.

As for if the system is in Reinforcement, there's a second tab/page on the Powerplay section of the galaxy map.
