Attaching multiple things can be a problem. My MacBook Air has only two USB-C ports. And neither my monitor nor my mouse have a USB-C connector. So, my solution was to buy a multi-port hub. It uses one USB-C port, and lets me connect monitor, mouse, memory cards, CD drive, etc to the Air.

Specifics of what multi-port hub to get will depend on what you need to connect, what computer you're trying to connect them to, and what kind of budget you want to use for it. (Mine cost < $25.)

I have a MacBook Air with just 2 USB-C ports, and I use external mouse and keyboard via Bluetooth, it works pretty well.

There's an adaptor available that plugs into USB and on other end has 4 USB slots. So; not an issue.

Then get a laptop with a touch screen, there are lots out there. Get a Surface pro and have the best of both worlds

Just be aware that a Surface is a Microsoft product, with all that implies. MS is busy turning their OS into nothing much more than an ad server, which doesn't appeal to me, but if the touch screen is important to you, that might be your best choice.

Linux is getting much better, but it's not for everyone. Depends on how much computer knowledge you have, and how much work you want to do. Something like Mint could be good, if you have someone you can talk to about details of installation, etc.

I have a Surface with added keyboard, and it works well enough. And if Microsoft isn't your thing, there are other laptop-tablet hybrids out there these days, such as the Lenovo Yoga.
