Reminds me of the stories of the women who worked the production cells for the earliest animated disney films. Sadly, they had to “clean” the cells to save them for future use.

Animation is interesting because our brains reliably prefer totally unrealistic frames that individually are ridiculous but in aggregate somehow are pleasing. It's actually really strange.

Here's another.

You animate a man walking and press play. The brain goes "this sucks oh my god what even the hell is this"

You go back in there and put the SLIGHTEST up-and-down to said man's head. Then the brain is like "this is the greatest thing I ever witnessed, thank you"

go back in there and add 1 frame where the punch moves slightly past its end point, before returning to the end point.
