It's because they're (smart) children. I sometimes run across them in my teaching. There's no one more arrogant, more sure of their own brilliance, less willing to learn and be corrected, than a 20-year-old boy with a brain and some ideas.

Odd that Elon Musk's dogebros are supposed to be these amazing data geniuses but every time they do anything with data they don't understand what they're looking at, don't know how to analyze it, and come to conclusions that are completely wrong.
