AI bros who don't understand the difference between training a model to mimic an artist and applying a image2image transformation on a single image.. they have claimed this is why Glaze doesn't work, since the first day of Glaze's release 2 years ago.

Glaze never claimed to disrupt I2I.

Img2img: process that takes existing image & modifies it using an AI tool.

Style mimicry: fine tuning a model on multiple samples (usually 10-20) of an artist's art, in order to capture their style and then be able to generate arbitrary images in that style.

Look at openAI's Ghibli: that's mimicry

Honestly no. I2I is super broad and includes things as simple as adding sprinkles around a face. Preventing the entire class of attacks is impossible , since many such changes do not even require a genAI model.

I tagged because the image in the screenshot is one that's on glaze's website, and I found it odd that no statement had been made on this, since the artist themselves seems(?) to have been the one that made the post. Like most people, I didn't know what i2i even was before this thread. Thank you!

Honestly I find it problematic to correct someone who should know well the difference between i2i and mimicry. In general, mimicry poses very little danger to photographers and I have never personally seen a successful mimicry of a photographer. Yes it was frustrating to see this misleading post.

they're improving it all the time, so just make sure you are using the latest version. and even if it "doesn't work", don't stop using it. people were cropping out and painting over signatures in the past, and those things were/are still important. any watermark is better than none.

Yes, that's what I would do, but it also means that my drawings that were protected by the old versions are stealable. I could have "fun" a second time deleting everything and reposting everything on my networks, but people have uploaded my drawings and reposted them elsewhere...

yes, it's unfortunate, but i definitely recommend against deleting and reuploading for the exact reason you mention. having the original up still means you can prove it's yours via the upload date, and once something is uploaded it's there forever SOMEWHERE, probably, so you'd gain nothing.

please read literally the FAQ screenshot that acfusion posted as a comment. This is an img2img attack. We have talked about this for 2 years. Glaze was never designed to prevent img2img attacks.

I need further context on what did they do. before I make the judgement due to how often I seen people claim to broke glaze. If it's img2img than they didn't broke it.
