This is a bad reading of the emails. You've left out an important detail where they said they'd START with a handful of people. When building a company, you can't expect to go from 0 to 100 without initial baby steps.

Now, their true intentions may be different and not shown in the emails but you'll need to provide evidence of that instead of pointing to the disclosed emails as your proof.

Had a read and I think Ilya and Greg both come off well and genuinely into the mission. Sama and Musk come off as, well, as we know them know now.

I think these archives are a sobering read into the finances of large corporate AI ventures. Required money is so huge you can't avoid a few big egos.

Believe in AGI, don't believe in AGI, it seems clear that if you believed in it and thought "hey, I'm more moral and wise than everyone so I should be in charge of it" then you shouldn't be trusted with power
