How so? (Full disclosure: in one of my groups’ multi-year campaigns I’m currently playing a blind monk/paladin, cursed with blindness for violating the spirit of her paladin oath before campaign start.)
Blind PCs tend to fall into two categories. 1) they are played with RAW blind condition and operate at an enormous disadvantage in combat, roleplaying, and skill encounters, forcing everyone in the game to work around one player’s choice. Or…
2) the blindness is immediately circumvented with magic or superpowers, in which case why invoke a very real disability in the first place if you’re not going to contend with the challenges?? (I know the answer, it’s because the genre trope is cool)
