rotating a pan in the oven halfway through a bake…im just not going to do that. i accept that my end result would probably be marginally better. but im simply not going to get up twice

A tilting cake 🍰 tastes the same as a level cake. But it makes it harder to split the layers. You can always add extra frosting and rotate the top layer to make a slanted cake level.
I think for most things, turning or flipping is not necessary and can do more harm than good, especially on a short bake where the heat loss from opening the oven is a pretty big deal.
Why take a chance that your half-baked cake FALLS because you opened the oven door, let out a bunch of the heat AND jostle the pan too much while rotating it. Keeping the temperature constant throughout the oven is what the "convection fan" is for. Turn it on and leave the oven door closed!
It’s crazy that oven technology has not advanced. It’s guaranteed that this fucking thing cannot bake something evenly and it’s so ubiquitous that every recipe mentions you have to rotate half way through. Get it together KitchenAid.There should be a lawsuit.
Doesn't your oven have a "convection fan?" Almost all ovens made in the last 10 years do... and most from the last 20 years have it. The whole purpose of the convection setting is to promote more even cooking.
you can justify it by avoiding the heat from the oven door opening & closing. if you don't notice a difference on one end of the final product vs. the other there's no need to do this.
I do not even stir my stew thoroughly. It’s OK if whatever is in the pan or pot is not a homogenous puréed blend. Each bite does not need to be exactly the same.
That sounds better than to just admit that I don’t wanna get up again. And if I say it in a French accent, even I almost believe it. 🤪
“For best results, flip product over halfway through bake time.”
Yea, no. The whole point of baking it is that I don’t have to deal with it till it’s done.
Sooo much stuff in recipes doesn't make a difference. Other than salt, you can more or less half or double any of the spices/herbs/etc. and no one notices. No one can tell if you rotate the pan or coat the meat in flour before you brown it. Etc. etc. etc. I'm such a lazy cook and it works fine!
