I use the same analogy and my FB is locked down. I don't ever talk about anything personal that I'm not comfortable with, but the last thing I need is some random asshole with zero life finding my FB page and being a jerk for no reason. Sorry. My party, my rules.

I used FB as a safe space to share items with family and friends from around the world so the last thing I wanted was some moron on my page so I limited my page to family and friends I met while traveling around the world, people I knew were good people. FB wasn’t never a popularity contest for me.

I do music stuff and the algorithm sucks SLIGHTLY less promoting on there as opposed to a Page, but I make sure when I add anyone that we have mutuals that are discerning and won't just add a nazi to sell an album.

same. mine is to never click on links or get on fights in groups, as that helps lower ad rates and demonetize the platform if enough ppl do it.

I also post there about 1/3 as much as normal.
