Also be careful of $100 bills! A lot of local places still don't accept them due to counterfeit concerns.

god yes my best advice to folks exhibiting at cons is to count your change before and after, just to see what bills you have more or less of at the end of the weekend—like I know at my price points that $10 bills are a PRECIOUS COMMODITY hahahaha

I used to be so good at doing this before every con, but lately I'm just so tired that I don't bother haha. I just tell people card or exact change only at the beginning of the show until I naturally accrue change via customers. I'm the worst lmao

also speaking as a retail worker, please please don't go to small businesses and ask them to make change. they often can't.
