Katharine Hayhoe and Hank Green did studies on the comparison and found bluesky had the best engagement, just not the high drive by numbers. Those threads are around here.

Don't discount the fact there isn't an algorithm here for Following. So unless you're only following a few people (or have taken the time to create a curated list and then use it) you will miss a lot of things to engage with as they happen.

I recently found quite posters feed where the app shows me people that I follow and they are not posting regularly. I like it and it seems to do the trick for now. I can engage with way more tech posts that the original feed

A lot of the devs here are wearing multiple hats and will often code in service of their atproto app, their labeler, their early warning moderation lists, or writing reposters like I did with Rogue NHC. Stuff I’ve seen work well is talking about your project or having a hot take on dev tools.
