I get that, but they don't even seem able to do the basics.
They're sloppy, they're giving it away, they're not tracking back, they don't seem to have any shape for any length of time.

This nails it. Not enough time in possession to get in attacking shape (or get out of defensive shape)

When fresher, Angeball remedies this with an intense press, but fatigue has broken the effectiveness of the press. Only thing left is to sit back and counter, which the team isn't built to do

It's really not Angeball at all imo. This game (&Brentford) they've sat back in a way they never have under him

Presume it's a symptom of not being able to keep possession (fatigue, injuries, yada yada) rather than intentional
