In today's age, "speaking out" is important but to a certain audience there needs to be a level of nuance and understanding of how they receive information "dissonant" to their belief system. There are few examples of epiphanies from people being shouted at, even if they are limited intellectually.
Doctors who move into leadership roles in medical association tend toward the right politically because the primary purpose of these associations is to protect physician's wealth and to establish a protective hierarchy for self-annointed "leaders" within specialty medicine.
The silence from many organized medical organizations has been deafening, but we experienced the same thing at the beginning of the COVID pandemic misinformation-fest. It’s okay to take a stand. #TruthMatters #ScienceMatters
I think many organizations - including medical - are cowering in fear of the administration. Many of their members are also apathetic, perhaps not understanding the direct impact politics can have on them. Lastly, some amazingly actually support the idea.
