…The only slight I have against it is that the first short Magnetic Rose is so strong the other 2 suffer in comparison. When a great short like Cannon Fodder is your weakest work you know you have something special.

Magnetic Rose - 10/10 (rare score from me)
Stink Bomb - 7/10
Cannon Fodder - 8/10

Still top tier, wish Otomo would actually finish that film he announced pre Covid...

Magnetic Rose is like an anime supergroup came together, literally one of the greatest assemblages of talent ever in that industry - Koji Morimoto (who does incredible surrealist shorts) directed, Satoshi Kon (no intro needed) wrote it, Hiroyuki Okiura (top tier animator who can be a good director)*

Did the animation / design work, Yoko Kanno (Cowboy Bebop) did the music. Its just incredible how many top tier creators were on this.

*Okiura COULD be a good director, I liked Jin-Roh, but the rest of his work is not great because he's just not interested in producing anything interesting.

I think its also legit one of the best animated anthologies of all time, not just in the world of Japanese animation.
