Yes, it's a 10 year budget and there are a bunch of people claiming it's wiping out all of Medicaid which is decidedly false. It's 10% of Medicaid spending. Still a large amount, but a lot of people not fact checking their own misinformation.

Thanks for sharing this. I was genuinely unaware. I also agree the media should be reporting this better too, however this fact changes nothing for me.
I support Medicare for all. Any cuts to Medicare is the wrong direction. Healthcare is a human right and I will die on that hill
It's also inflation & population adjusted. So it's really 10%-11% cut in total. Still significant and ground-shaking. We should focus on that rather than trying to say it's something it isn't (a complete elimination).
It’s also the opening salvo. If they can get away with cutting SNAP by 20% in the first year, you can bet they’ll be trying to cut it by 40% in Trump’s second year, on and on until it’s gone. Meanwhile, not a penny cut from military spending yet.
Whew that's better than what I first assumed by this post. The $880B cut over 10 years will result in: millions of people forced off Medicaid, more ER visits, higher mortality rates, the closing of rural hospitals and nursing homes, increase in healthcare costs, ~2M lost healthcare jobs.
So are you saying that I won’t lose my healthcare this year? Or is it that I won’t lose my healthcare for 10 years? Either way it sucks and is not okay.
If the system is already underfunded and inflation is going up and he’s cutting a further 10% that is effectively wiping it from millions of people. He was being pedantic. Those millions who lose it because of this will see it as it being wiped. Let’s not down play what a horrible plan this is.
A 10% cut and a 100% is a massive difference, not pedantic. No one here is playing down that this is catastrophic but misinformation also isn't helpful
In fairness, it's not unreasonable for people to automatically jump to the worst possible interpretation because it all just keeps coming true. But you're correct.
I'm really not blaming individual people for jumping to those conclusions. I am blaming smart people in the know with large followings who are spreading it intentionally to stoke further fear and anxiety. Not the way I would go about it.

It would be basically cutting people off every year for 10 years along with not being able to add people that might need it.
