I am guessing it is not that poisonous as you get nickel-silver cutlery.
You also get drinking water coming through copper pipes.

It’s also not poisonous in the same way that lead pipes aren’t poisonous either.
Over time, it does degrade, and it turns into a poison once it does.
Look up copper poisoning and nickel poisoning. Silver is the active ingredient in early antibiotics and had bad side effects.
