42! And some of that is the fact that I immediately slam down book recs from you (cod! Underland! When the angels left the old country!) and some of that is remarkable kids book overlap. Baby Keesh 🤝 baby Jules (half magic, which witch?, Howl’s).
So anyways I’m taking notes on more things to read
i'm in the middle of reading robin hobb's oeuvre and loving it, but i think i will take a quick break to read murderbot before the show happens. but yes any things that are either gay kissin or speculative fiction about like. the Self and family and time. i will probably like.
on kind of the heavier end of the spectrum the lathe of heaven has some of the best and juiciest prose of all time and is really phenomenal about like. how our decisions affect the world around us and what are responsibilities are.
wolves of Willoughby chase lives in my head forever. actually the real one which I didn't put on because No One has ever read it was Joan Aiken's other book the stolen lake about Guinevere waiting for Arthur to return via murdering young women for their life force. thanks joan
I feel like the books list even more than the movie lists end up being pretty specific to the people who make them! there's a lot of middle grade/kids lit on here that Eye was obsessed with as a very particular kid lol. also a non zero amount of art theory
only 16 which is really saying something but i guess every book we've talked abut in the last year has kinda been "dont read this" LMAO. shoutout to my friend the likeness
if I did the movie list honestly there would be like three veggie tales epics on there so it's For The Best. also please know that this list Should contain Narnia the ender books and hp but it doesn't for perhaps obvious reasons. 👍

And yeah, fun to think that in a universe where we met and I was like 11 I’d be thinking the same thing lol
(though i think the most formative one of his for me was probably Seven Day Magic. I am always thinking about Barnabas the Wanderer)
