Also, humidity plays a factor, and to my knowledge, deserts often lack humidity—and AC absolutely has plenty of that in July.

Depends on the part of texas your in. San Antonio Austin area we would regularly have humidity at 70-80% in 100+ degree weather. Texas has tons of different environments not just deserts
