I want and hoping someone has it or is working on a state-by-state guide to organizations that are geared up to fight thes expected authoritarian, racist, sexist, homophobic, anti immigrant next steps. If it exists please blast it out.
Leaving my monthly donation to WisDems going at least through this election. So important to balance out the extreme gerrymandering that was put in place and revive fair representation.
Elon will take his voter registration caravan from State to State moving forward, an do what he did on Nov 5th - have this database of registered people and play king maker. The only way to stop this, is to remove the use of StarLink connectivity in tabulating ballots.
April will *also* be a ton of critical local elections across Wisconsin. (Including my own!)
School boards, city councils, town aldermen, and other local offices will be the ones who decide whether we give up or fight Trump's attack on education, civil rights, science and good governance
Dear Ben
I think this is important, today !!
One really imp thing to do is confirm Judges; apparently GA Sen Ossoff is blocking this nominee
Please, if you know anyone in GA, ask them to call Sen Ossoff and get him to support this nominee
thanks !!!!! https://bsky.app/profile/profjpc.bsky.social/post/3lbfvyylc2k2q
All in to amplify and support. The importance of a fair state Supreme Court cannot be underestimated. Here in Ohio, our new court is 6 Rep to 1 Dem. Knowing they will have the court on their side, Reps are already bringing forth voter suppression, anti-transgender,& school religious bills. #Resist
You can drive up and Canvas when the election is closer. The Wisdems website usually has a bunch of volunteer opportunities. I live in Northeast Wisconsin but did canvasing with a group in Milwaukee in October. We might have literally saved Baldwin's seat.
Here's the other one - I met volunteers from this group. They do canvassing, the other one does voter registration: https://www.operationswingstate.com/
Yes you can canvass! Even if you can do only a few weekend shifts, it will help. Not even 2 million people voted in the last WI SC election. Every single vote will be essential. (Man we are getting tired here in WI but we have to win this one.)
i find it weird that the "Journal of Information Technology & Politics", which appears to exist, does not have a single article with the word "Deepfake" in it.
i suggest that perhaps the search function for that journal either doesn't work, or doesn't work as expected.
this is why the Dems should not try to stop the nominees. the sooner the public can witness the coming destruction, the better chance we have at reversing course .
If you are in WI (or nearby), you can canvass. If you are not in WI, you can write postcards. People will not know about this race so much, so turnout will be essential.
Can we please just take a break from the next impending election? Elections in the US are 365 days a year. Elections never end. I'm beginning to believe it's more about making $$$$$ than the will of the people. Capitalism at its WORST. I'm exhausted.
I get it. I really want to find a cabin in the woods (with good internet) & hide for the next 4 yrs. But if we do that, they get to control all the narrative. It’s more important than ever to work the ‘smaller’ State/local elections to insure the don’t control everything. They’re close enough now…
Thankyou I for one, I needed to hear that 🙏 it is a very heavy emotional time, for sure, especially for women so we do need to be reassuring and encouraging each every single day, especially towards the end of the day when our minds gave been bombarded with bad news and corruption.
And that is the point of what they are doing. Bombard with their plans til youfall to your knees emotionally and intellectually exhausted up. Don't give up the fight. Everyday I try to find one thing positive to build up my resolve to fight. Every night I go to bed in tears but I'm still gonna fight
Dumb question: is there a site that has a list of important state executive/legislative/judicial elections in the next 12-24 months? State level will be where the victories are won in the next few years…
YES. Find and follow @taniel.bsky.social
He breaks down all states and all ballot nominees. Excellent election detail coverage. He writes Bolts Magazine too.
I wonder if citizens of Wisconsin know the rich progressive history it holds. Bob LaFollette, good name to know. Maybe your kids need to write a report? Check him out. Ben, you and your team do awesome work.Proud Wisconsinite here.
Ben—can you or someone on your staff please create a “ #Wisconsin #Politics ##Starter #Pack?” It would help us to work together with other Wisconsinites who are interested in helping out—especially since the #WI Supreme Court election is coming up quickly.
Please add alt-text when sharing images, so blind and low-vision people aren't excluded from the conversation. A bit of context and copy/paste often do the job! Checking the "reminder to add alt-text" box in your accessibility settings helps. Here's a brief guide on writing good alt-text:
With Wisconsin still at the white-hot center of American politics, our state Supreme Court remains one of the most crucial judicial bodies in America. Decisions by this court shape national outcomes.
For a decade and a half, Wisconsin’s Supreme Court was a tool of GOP extremists. But years of relentless communication and organizing by Democrats and allies culminated in the victory of 2023—winning a pro-freedom majority and ending far-right control of the court.
2023’s win was a sea change. It has changed life in Wisconsin for the better. But now a pro-democracy Justice, Ann Walsh Bradley, will be retiring after three decades of distinguished service. On April 1, 2025, the majority is once again at stake.
Wisconsin’s current Supreme Court majority ended the partisan gerrymander, restored voting rights, reined in abuses of power by Robin Vos’s state legislature, and is now considering a landmark case about access to abortion. All of that, and much more, is now on the line.
Whoever wins this spring’s election will cast the deciding vote in 4-3 cases. And we already know exactly how the far-right candidate in this race would rule.
His name: Brad Schimel. GOP Attorney General under Scott Walker. He’s an extremist.

He covers all candidates and all states for all elections. Great resource.

Maybe STFU and go do fundraising with celebrities, and leave winning elections to people who give a damn about more than maybe one office.
Democrats and the DNC need to listen to YOU and Rachel Bitecofer.
Positive ads don't win against hate & fear, which led to our new reality. Fight with hard truths and KEEP POUNDING THEM.
