Kind of off topic but I have tried to watch All About Eve four times and I have fallen asleep every time. We went to the Fox Theatre in Oakland to it and I snored away through the last act.
back when I painted miniatures my friends and I noticed you'd sometimes come across a fig that by all measures should be a joy to paint but every time you picked it up it instantly drained your artistic chi, we called it the 'Death Mini'
I should like it. It’s in my wheelhouse. I went to college for it. I tell everyone I know that I like literature that is like Anthony Powell, but even one page of Dance to the Music of Time makes me want to re-watch Legally Blonde.
Maybe 2025, in addition to the year that I gain an off-putting amount of knowledge about crustaceans and that I drink turmeric shots and tell everyone that I take tumeric shots because it helps with inflammation — maybe 2025 will be the year I read an Anthony Powell book and watch All About Eve.
It really is such a slog, and yet any time I want to do any world building on my S.T.A.L.K.E.R. campaign I find myself putting it on, almost as though my hands have a will of their own separate from my mind.

Still, I sympathize. I had to be in the right mood to take that last chance.
