I believe I am what would be called lyric deaf. Vocals are usually just another layer of timbres and rhythms. In any language, unless I'm consciously paying attention. Which means I'm sometimes making nice discoveries. (Pretty sure I've posted this before, but somehow it's never not appropriate.)
