New ESSL study: Lightning kills about 64 people per year across Europe, 78% of them being men. In eastern Europe most victims were at work, whilst in West Europe people engaging in leisure activities are hit more often. I assume there are some data re lightning density? E.g Maybe Bulgaria has just nore storms? Can this be used to compensate further? :-)
