There's this fallacy anytime a program for alternative transportation comes up that believes we can only have one thing at a time. Want a bike line? Oh no! Can't have that because then there will be zero delivery trucks. Want a subway? Absolutely not because ambulances. The roads still exist!

Janno Lieber had a good response to this IMO. He basically said that if firefighters (or whoever) can’t afford to come into work that’s something they should negotiate as part of their contract. Doesn’t make sense for the MTA to be subsidizing their commutes via CP exemptions
