Such a good idea, I'm looking forward to seeing more! If its available to you I recommend stripping the original paint, sanding it, or applying something like a gesso as the first layer. In my experience, painting on top of a factory paint job can make things feel a lot harder than they actually are

I tend to wash them with soap and a toothbrush, and when they dry I pass a white primer, but rarely take photos of this step because I forget to do it a lot lol
Never thought about removing the paint job going to look into it, mostly because the primer already hides a lot of stuff

Oh, that makes sense! I imagine priming would be more than sufficient for most things so ignore me lol (Though stripping them can yield very satisfying results since you don't have to worry about the layered paint obscuring details of the sculpt, but that isnt always worth it of course)

Yeah, prime tends to remove some of the details if they are quite small or you apply too much, but these pokémons small "details" are just scratches lol
