And the right wing propaganda press feast on the contradictions. As I mentioned in previous posts; we are facing an epistemic crisis that demands a new “trusted source” - whatever form that takes. Ideally a non-political long term funded group! How we get there…..🤷‍♀️

Some of the science I see reported really stretches credibility; sadly much of it in the grey zones of nutrition and “healthcare” that is often contradicted almost immediately. The layman sees a tidal wave of junk science- and doesn’t seem to be equiped to discern good from bad.

As a research scientist, I think they have a point! There is still great science being done but We are now also facing vast amounts of poor science driven by funding/ grant issues; and a “real time” media desperate for stories, that hit the streets “uncooked”. Not sure what the solution is!

This is a pretty comprehensive article, though I find a 1.5% increase in Republican COVID deaths over Democrat COVID deaths to be disingenuous and not statistically significant. The margin of error is usually 3%.
Out of curiosity?Why is the word article in quotation marks?

In general, we Democrats, Progressives, and sane people in general tend to be the kind of people who think that "the truth speaks for itself", but sadly, that no longer works in this day. We need to learn to actually "create the narrative", and do it on the most basic level.

Agree re: propaganda. Discourse from the “right” is for “common sense” and against the “elite”. Common sense is actually political ideology and those educated are subtly included in the “elite”.
