Dry fuel - and lots of it - is an incredibly large part of why these fires tend to burn so fast and hot. Firefighters struggle to keep up:
If you can confirm that the burning of fossil fuels impacts at least some of these things, you can put them together and conclude fossil fuels are making these wildfires more catastrophic.
Eg - were the extremely fierce winds related to fossil fuels? There isn't enough evidence to say for sure:
