The forever tropes about perfection, anything is better than nothing etc
Sums up #auspol mediocrity totally
Then silence, just bury any further consideration or any other effort to do better
Disappointed to find on re-read that this is not the case!
"We have purchased offsets for hard to abate emissions, given the slow progress of technological availability" (no information about what 'hard to abate' means or how their own emissions fit that; just fuzzy post-hoc rationalisations)
It's been noticeable how Labor loves talking renewables & transition while staying mum on actual emission reductions & any other kind of enviro issue (biodiversity, water, pollution etc)
They're firmly backing Addition not Transition https://bsky.app/profile/yungenchee.bsky.social/post/3lje5fr3zx22c
It's so fucking depressing. (Sorry)
Don't ever feel like you're being ignored. It is surprising what persistence can achieve!
I always point out (when I'm not too depressed) that it took Britain 70 plus years to abolish slavery. New ideas are slow to be adopted.
LAST!
