Tell me this isn't better for Montreal's young core going forward than losing most nights and finishing near the bottom so they can get a higher draft pick. NOTHING beats meaningful games to a young player's development. The prospect cupboard is already brimming - a winning environment is next.

It's fine if it never made any sense for you and I'm pretty sure most tankers are satisfied with how it is actually because our success is due to the kids pulling the team up and not the veterans.
I'm personnaly PTSD from those past 30 years where we've been super-mid, mostly barely making or missing the playoffs and had to hope for a Halak/Price miracle to win a few rounds.
We've been so superstar-starved. Can't wait for Demidov!
